The traitor from within, or food for thought!

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious, but it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor, he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men, he rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."
Marcus Tullius Cicero

A nation, a City, or a Community, all the same my friends, think about it!

"Free speech, when it matters"

For those on this blog who would shout down, laugh at, or otherwise attempt to stifle the "other sides" responses to comments, whatever they may be, please click on the header, and reflect on the ideas posted there.

When your getting ready to blast one of us for speaking our minds, or posing an alternate opinion, remember, you too have the right to state your views without being scorned for them.

I am not going to give you the "Rodney King" trash because it won't work. No we can't "all just get along", but we can, and should be able to post our thought's on this blog without fear of being "low rated". May we please try it for a change? If you disagree, say so, use facts to back up your comments, but BE CIVIL!

Thanks for your attention, I'll shut up now, and let the verbal jousting begin.

Ladies and gentlemen, would you please join my family, and me in wishing Mrs. Sandy Grav`e a very happy Birthday!

We aren't getting into how old or any wise cracks about birthday's on this blog, but Sandy has been a outstanding Crestwood Citizen, who has given much of her time and hard work to the City.

Sandy worked for 30 years at City hall in a variety of job's before retiring from Crestwood. She has many friends here in town, who will want to call her, or put a note on the blog for her special day I am sure, so without further eloquence, I give you the Birthday girl!

MRS. SANDY GRAV`E !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!!

Ah, the French, "they are always there when they need us!". Please click on the header to be directed to a story reference the French helping us again!

What was the definition of insanity? Oh yes, doing the same thing over, and over, and expecting different results! Why do we bother?

My "living will form", or time to lighten up a bit!

You all should now have a copy in case you need it for me. Please feel free to execute it upon my need.

Tom Ford

This is my Living Will.

Form submitted fo those desiring.
I, __________________________, being of sound mind and body, do not wish to be kept alive indefinitely by artificial means.
Under no circumstances should my fate be put in the hands of pinhead politicians who couldn't pass ninth-grade biology if their lives depended on it.
Nor in the hands of lawyers/doctors who are interested simply in running up the bills.
If a reasonable amount of time passes and I fail to ask for at least one of the following:
Bloody Mary,
Beer,
Margarita,
Scotch and soda,
Martini,
Vodka and Tonic,
steak, lobster or crab legs,
the remote control,
bowl of ice cream,
chocolate, coca cola
or sex
it should be presumed that I won't ever get better.
When such a determination is reached, I hereby instruct my appointed person and attending physicians to pull the plug, reel in the tubes and
call it a day.
At this point, it is time to call a New Orleans Jazz Funeral Band to come do their thing at my funeral, and ask all of my friends to raise their glasses to toast the good times we have had. "Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler" or "Let the Good Times Roll"...
Signature: ___________________________
Date: ___________________________
Attest:_______________________________
Added Note: I also hear that in Ireland they have a Nursing Home with a Pub. The patients are happier and they have a lot more visitors.

I think the dying words of the Duke's uncle would be very appropriate here!!!

Planning and Zoning meeting 8/2/06

Ladies and gentlemen, A proposal came before the P & Z board tonight for approval of a two story office building to be built on the property next to (guess where?) VALUE CITY! And the Creston Center! It was approved by the P & Z board and sent on to the BOA.

The office building will house a Doctor's office, and other "tenant finish" offices, and, if approved by the BOA, work should start next July.

This, if approved, will be a great addition to Crestwood, and will help the residential neighborhood behind the project with landscaping, storm water run off, and property values.

Please attend the August 22 BOA meeting, and give your views to the Board reference the project.
