News on the trial of the allegded killer of SGT. Bill Mc entee

I worked with Bill on several occasions, most of the time as his "partner" while on patrol in Kirkwood. I knew him to be a fair, honest, hard working man who loved, and respected his family. There can be no doubt that the world lost a fine man on the day that the alleged shooter saw fit to end his life, in front of witnesses, on a street he and I had been on numerous times.

I bring this to you for many reasons, not the least of which is that I would like to think that all of us who are able to live and work in a community, in safety, are thankful to our Police officers who put their life on the line to secure that mantle of safety!

The next time you see a Crestwood officer, please just say "thanks," they don't ask for more than that, and they darn sure earn more than that every day they put the uniform on!

Oh! the alleged killer? Well, may there be a very special place in hell for that waste of O2! You took a very fine man from us, and left a void that will never be filled! May you think about it every day until your execution!

Now, liberals, explain to Bill's family why we should be "compassionate!"

UPDATE! JOHNSON ADMITS GUILT IN THE KILLING OF OFFICER MC ENTEE! Why you say? Well to gin up sympathy from the jury, that's why. Now if the jury can only see through this farce, and give him the death penalty, justice will have been served! Oh, and by the way, forget "alleged" and just say killer from now on.

Crestwood Point TDD meeting set.

For those you interested in the Crestwood Point (Kohl's, Swim club, parking lot) TDD, the meeting will be held at City Hall at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, March 28, 2007.

This meeting should include the new appraisal of the property, and thoughts on why we should grant $850,000.00 to THF, via the TDD(and pay a higher tax at Kohl's to fund it.)

THF was asked at the last meeting by a resident to show us a copy of the original appraisal, and asked why should have a second one. To my knowledge that request has yet to be complied with, so we may see a second request at the meeting.

This is an important part of our City folk's, so if you can make it, please plan to attend!

While I am at it at it please note that we ended fiscal year 2006 with a surplus of more than $1,8 million dollars in the three funds. That I would say rates a tip of the hat to Mayor Robinson, the BOA, and Mr. Frank Myers for a job well done!

It strikes me that we have the people in place to get the job done here folks, and before long we will be electing some new Aldermen (or Alderwoman,) and I pray they will continue to work with the Mayor and Mr. Myers to continue on the path that has turned us around.

On April 3, 2007 please vote for the best qualified candidate that you believe will work to move us forward!

Cute Church stories for your funny bone.

With thanks to J. Stock, I present a few funnies to lighten up your day!

Waking Up for Church

One Sunday morning a mom went in to wake her son and tell him it was time to get ready for church, to which he replied, "I'm not going.""Why not?" she asked. "

I'll give you two reasons," he said. "One, they don't like me, and two, I don't like them."
His mother replied, "I'll give YOU two good reasons why YOU SHOULD go (1) You're 59 years old, and (2) you're the pastor!"

The Picnic

A Jewish Rabbi and a Catholic Priest met at the town's annual 4th of July picnic. Old friends, they began their usual banter. "This baked ham is really delicious," the priest teased the rabbi. "You really ought to try it. I know it's against your religion, but I can't understand why such a wonderful food should be forbidden! You don't know what you're missing. You just haven't lived until you've tried Mrs. Hall's prized Virginia Baked Ham. Tell me, Rabbi, when are you going to break down and try it?"
The rabbi looked at the priest with a big grin, and said, "At your wedding."

The USHER

An elderly woman walked into the local country church. The friendly usher greeted her at the door and helped her up the flight of steps. "Where would you like to sit?" he asked politely.
"The front row please," she answered. "Are you certain ? " he asked., with a mischievous smile. "Sometimes the new pastor can be rather boring." "Thanks for the warning!" , she smiled. "Do you happen to know who I am?" the woman inquired. "No." he replied. "I'm the new pastor's mother," she said proudly . "Do you know who I am?" he asked. "No." she said.
"Good," he answered.

Show and Tell

A kindergarten teacher gave her class a "show and tell" assignment. Each student was instructed to bring in an object to share with the class that represented their religion. The first student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Benjamin and I am Jewish, and this is a Star of David." The second student got up in front of the class and said, "My name is Mary. I'm a Catholic, and this is a Rosary." The third student got in up front of the class and said, "My name is Tommy. I am a Methodist, and this is a casserole."

The Best Way To Pray

A priest, a minister, and a guru sat discussing the best positions for prayer, while a telephone repairman worked nearby. "Kneeling is definitely the best way to pray," the priest said.
"No," said the minister. "I get the best results standing with my hands outstretched to Heaven."
"You're both wrong," the guru said. "The most effective prayer position is lying down on the floor." The repairman could contain himself no longer. "Hey, fellas," he interrupted. "The best prayin' I ever did was when I was hangin' upside
down from a telephone pole."

The Twenty and the One

A well-worn 1-dollar bill and a similarly distressed 20-dollar bill arrived at a Federal Reserve Bank to be retired. As they moved along the conveyor belt to be burned, they struck up a conversation.

The 20-dollar bill reminisced about its travels all over the country. "I've had a pretty good life," the 20 proclaimed."Why I've been to Las Vegas and Atlantic City , the finest restaurants in New York , performances on Broadway, and even a cruise to the Caribbean ." "Wow!" said the one-dollar bill. "You've really had an exciting life!" "So tell me," says the twenty, "where have you been throughout your lifetime?" The 1-dollar bill replies, "Oh, I've been to the Methodist Church , The Baptist Church, the Lutheran Church . " The 20-dollar bill interrupts, "What's a church?"

Goat for Dinner

The young couple invited their elderly pastor for Sunday dinner. While they were in the kitchen preparing the meal, the minister asked their son what they were having. "Goat," the little boy replied. "Goat?" asked the startled man of the cloth. "Are you sure about that?" "Yep," said the youngster. "I heard Dad say to Mom, 'Today is just as good as any to have the old goat for dinner.'"

Crestwood new construction!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Have you been watching the new retail strip centers under construction in Crestwood lately?

It looks as though we will be seeing new stores in several places in the very near future, with more to follow as the construction is completed!

Looks to me that Crestwood is on the way to completing a major goal, that being the re-vitalization Mr. Myers, and Mayor Robinson promised!

By popular request, another blog change!

Thanks to Martha Duchild and others who convinced me that allowing you to post under the "anonymous" lid of secrecy, we will change back to the old way of doing things effective now.

One small thing will change however, the "politics of personal destruction" will no longer be allowed! If you feel you need to vent on someone, call them, write them, but you will not be able to do it on this blog, and have it stay on!

I hope we will see posts from responsible adults (and kids,) from now on, without the felt need to insult someone!
