Ah, once again the Suncrest Call reports on Crestwood! It seems that Mr. Mike Anthony want's an open, and above board vote on the BOA president!

For once I agree! Who voted for whom? and when do we get this resolved folks?

8 alderman promising to work together for the rest of their terms, and what do they do? Vote SECRETLY for who they want for their board president. We're going from bad to worse. Why on earth would this need to be a secret? Are we ashamed of who we vote for? Are we NUTS? I intend to ask my alderman why he feels the need to vote in secret. It looks to me like Ms. Duwe, Mr. Kelleher, Mr. Bland, & Mr. Pickle voted for Ms. Duwe. They all belong to the swim club and are long time 'friends'. Well, there you are folks! Heck with who could do the board the most good with their contributions, let's keep the good ole boy's club alive and well. Look how much success it has brought us in the past.

It looks to me like Mr. Breeding, Mr. Miguel, Mr. Roby,Mr. Nieder must have voted for Mr. Miguel, there fore they must also be life long friends who are members of or who hang out with the CCFFR people. Heck, lets keep the good old boys club alive and well. Look how much success it brought us in the past.

And to answer you question, yes you are nuts.

As I've said before, you cannot get a straight answer from one of our writers. Of course when 4 are named as voting for one (assumption) the other 4 voted for the other one. What would make a member of the audience think this? It is the fact that happy smiles that pass between new aldermen and older alderwoman across the dias. If you boys need 'secrecy' about voting, then you need a better game plan for 'discrecion' because warm and fuzzies are a dead giveaway. Probably Rovy and Nieder didn't even know each other before the election and of course everyone knows those already on the board and believe me, everyone in the audience is aware of members up there who do something and do nothing. One of our alderman is perceived as being ' ', no use labeling him, we are not practicing psych doctors. We only believe that if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's usually a duck.

I can't wait for the multitude of work sessions regarding the budget. Look at the progress it brought us last year! Balanced budget (MAYBE for income/expenses for 2006) But what about the $1.5mil owed from last year? That is a debt owed, not just for "cash flow".

11:44 PM, May 04, 2006
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Every flow chart and all work sheets containing the numbers are public for anyone interested to look through, figure out, and stand up and say what they think. Who better able to do this than our eight alderman? To go to a meeting, say nothing, and then criticise those who do work toward a resolution, what do you accomplish? For yourself or your city? Maybe we need to raise the bar a little higher.

9:45 AM, May 05, 2006

Your quote "maybe we need to raise the bar a little higher" makes sense if you are referring to the board of aldermen. For seven years they were asleep at their rubber stamps while spending went awry. Political posturing and finger pointing are not the makings of a good alderman.

Oh, please. If you think that it has been the past 7 years you are ignorant of the facts. Garbage in garbage out.

I agree, the BOA needs to step up and take an aggressive stand on the issues, like the budget. Maybe now that one of the law suits is settled, they can concentrate on the City.

How much did the lawsuit settle for? How many hundreds of thousands ($500,000) of my scarce tax dollars were wasted on lawsuits and payouts. Somebody needs to ask the guy who started all of this - ex Mayor ROBERTSON for an explanation. That is if you can find him....

11:04 AM, May 06, 2006

Questions of interest are: Did someone or some company pay Crestwood to settle the lawsuits? And why did Crestwood settle?

3:33 PM, May 06, 2006
Blogger Crestwood Independent said...

Crestwood no doubt setteled the lawsuits due to the on-going cost's of the lawyers!

Remember these suits should have never happened in the first place if management was on top of things!

I would be willing to bet that Crestwood would have lost big on at least one of the suits as we had nary a leg to stand on!

I mentioned before that you can request a copy of the settlement at City hall with a FOIA form, and I would recommend you do so for further information so you get the correct info.

Please, let's all tell our Aldermen to insure this never happens again in Crestwood, as we cann'ot afford to pay for streets, fire, police, and lawsuits all at the same time!

They settled because the lawsuit(s) were big loosers and should have never been filed in the first place. By the time you add all this up, the Robertson\Greer Administration cost us $750,000+
And we are still paying Mr. Greer through July what a BARGIN!

Oops I forgot to through in the $50k that we had to pay for the Christmas Party blooper.

But Mayor ROBINSON at the Ward 2 Town Hall meeting said that the city saved "millions" and "dodged a bullet" with a recent agreement with an employee who resigned. I wonder what the reasons were for those comments by the Mayor.

9:36 PM, May 06, 2006
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Was it was in reference to things that were done by previous administrations, such as giving one person two jobs and knowing that there was a relationship between two employees?

Is your bow tie too tight? Roy Robinson is working hard to clean up Crestwood's mess. I wonder if Jim Robertson misses the new furniture he purchased for his office?

Roy - economic development, cost cutting, segregating the job of police chief and city administrator.
Jim R - spends $10,000 of taxpayer money for new furniture, supports new police station, additional spending, offers Greer c/a along with police chief and allows $830.00 car expense, then resigns citing health problems. I wonder if he ever rode in that BMW?

Roy R. does have problems with women! They like him and can enjoy his company because they know he's not a 'hands on' kind of guy. What's with you guys, Roy's not doing anything to get any degative attention which of course is what you live for! What's this about all the former financial officers experience? Is that what they call it nowadays?

9:38 AM, May 07, 2006

Has Roy R been charged with sexual harassment on the job and has he taken sexual harassment sensitivity training? Ask him the next time you meet him.

Well when all is said and done, we know one thing! That being the fact that Tom Ford is a warm, caring, sensitive kind of guy (just read my post's,) don't we.

That said, I would bet anyone involved with the Government, business community, Church leadership, or whatever in the past 15-20 years has taken "sensitivity training" courtesy of the PC folks in America today. I would be suprised if Mayor Robinson hasen't, now if some of the former Crestwood officials had, we might not be so broke!

Don't dismiss those charges against Roy so fast. Our boy does seem to share some characteristics of a former mayor.

And please, don't write it off as overactive political correctness. I hope someone does take him to task publicly about this issue. He'll be lying if he says there hasn't already been a controversy surrounding his behavior.
