Leaks, and the on going problem of Sappington Rd.

Ladies, and Gentlemen, on blog number 180 I asked if we were ever going to fix the "fluid leak" under Sappington Road. Well, as you know, I received a reply from a person who would know, stating that it will be repaired, and that the latest leak was flowing from a water main not ours.

The answer I received got me to thinking though. It would seem that we have had leaks stemming from MSD, County Water, and Crestwood over the past two years, as stated in the response I posted on this blog.

Now, what I am wondering is why we have never had a "boil water order" during the times we have had these leaks. If we have had, (as stated in post 180,)leaks in the "water lines" should we not have had a "boil water" order issued?

Do we have a health issue reference the leaks? Or are we just "putting up with them" till we can repair them? Please, someone advise us about this matter.

Do these water lines supply drinking water or are they routed to something else e.g. fire hydrants? Are they leaking water out, or is something leaking in?

Depending on the condition, I'm guessing that a boil order may not be warranted.

Maybe Missouri American Water would have answers, or the Missouri Public Service Commission.

Boil orders are only necessary when the there is a leak AND there is low water pressure. A leak with normal water pressure is not an issue because the water going out of the leak keeps anything nasty from getting back in.

Is the water running to curtain the Benzene, TPH, and Ethylbenzene odors?

The American Water 6 inch lid is leaking and the AmerenUE lid is leaking water.

There seems to be two leaks.

I don't know about all of you, but I am becoming concerned about all that water under-mining Sappington Road!

It is more than possible that we could see a "sink hole" right here in Crestwood.

What if a fully loaded Fire truck, or a tractor trailer were to break through the road, what then?

I have been told by a homeowner on the east side of Sappington Road that they are starting to see mud in the water. Mud=Erosion, and Erosion=Sink hole, not good.

Anyone want to bet the street problem was caused by the now prevented use of motor driven skate boards? Thank God when our new Chief of Police sees a problem he acts quickly to correct it.
Now if he can figure out how to stop the gang style graffiti that is starting to show up in our City, we will have a true gem protecting us.

ROTFLOL! What insight, what perception! What drivel!

Don't tell us, you don't like the new Chief, right? There may be an opening in Fairview Heights, why not call them, or better yet, visit them!

Love the open minded people who patrol this blog for posts that don't agree with the Mayor's actions. Why don't you address the issue of the upswing in gang behaviour in Crestwood? What is the Chief doing about it? Don't know about it? Why not? Does he?
Too busy patroling this blog to protect and defend the Mayor to know what is going on in your own back yard?

Upswing in gang behavior in Crestwood
Too busy patrolling the Blog

Pray tell, did this so called gang behavior commence the very day the new Chief was sworn in?

Or, did Mighty Manfred the ex-
Wonder Chief fail to address it and leave it behind in the "to do" box?

I was once assigned to the north county gang task force where the gangs were prevelent. In fact I took ex Kirkwood High School principle (Franklin Mc Caullie) to a meeting to help him identify gang wmbers.

That said, unless I am becoming senile, I havent seen the "gang presence" you refer to in Crestwood yet. To be sure there are "wannabe gansters" in the mall, but believe me they are a long way from being real gansters!

Why don't you call the Chief and ask him about the "problem" when you see one? The police will send an officer to investigate the lad.

Just be sure your not painting some kid as a ganster when he is only dressing the way he wants to!

I worried about the undermining of our homes on Sappington. Water has a mine of its own and can undermine your driveway.

Are there springs on Sappington and Watson?

The springs are mentioned in the Crestwood Story.

Look for the spray painted marks gangs leave on buildings and fences, at the end of Sappington at Big Bend, on parking lot of the Mall. Since you have a back ground in this, after looking at it you can tell if its wanta be or real be.
If you check your history a bit you will see that former Chief Greer addressed gang actions at the Mall over 5 years ago. I dont know when this new stuff started but it seems to have appeared in the last 90 days. Not that it matters who was in charge, what is more inportant to me is it real and what is being done about it.
But true to the writters on this blog who support the Mayor, they want to poo poo this concern and point fingers at the former chief, Mayor and the pool and a leaky street. How sad, how very sad, its like Nero playing his fiddle while Rome burned.

I do know that the former Police Chief addressed the possibility of gang presence at Crestwood Plaza. Patrols were beefed up and that was part of the reason Crestwood police set up a kiosk there.
From what I've been told, by Crestwood police and others, Mr. Ford is correct. Those who are present are 'wannabes'.
I also know that the current chief takes this issue seriously as well, because the times I have been at the mall, I have seen a strong police presence, either inside or in the parking lots.
If I may ask, is this graffiti just a recent occurence, or has it been happening for a while?

Appears the "gang" behavior issue that you say was addressed in an earlier administration is still going on. I would imagine our police have been trying to stay on top of it for some time. This would include the new Chief who was on the force then and now.

No one is poo pooing anything. Facts are facts. It just so happens the pool matter and the water leak are also important.

Sir, there is nothing wrong with supporting our Mayor. If you chose not to, well so be it although your constant pity party for the ex-Chief is getting rather tiresome.

It really would be better to direct your wrath at those spray painting personal property.

What is wrong with you? Stupid? Ignorant? People have figured the writer above is one of only two people whose conduct in public would indicate he is abnormally childish and misbehaved. Crestwood needs you to be in therapy.

I looked at some of the "Gang grafitti" near the plaza, and I will tell you it's "wanna bee's", not real gansters.

Someone sees these clowns painting this stuff, so why not call the PD when you see it?

The police know exactly how to deal with this problem, but will you be happy when the complaints start rolling in? You can't have both, believe me!
