Planning and Zoning meeting 8/2/06

Ladies and gentlemen, A proposal came before the P & Z board tonight for approval of a two story office building to be built on the property next to (guess where?) VALUE CITY! And the Creston Center! It was approved by the P & Z board and sent on to the BOA.

The office building will house a Doctor's office, and other "tenant finish" offices, and, if approved by the BOA, work should start next July.

This, if approved, will be a great addition to Crestwood, and will help the residential neighborhood behind the project with landscaping, storm water run off, and property values.

Please attend the August 22 BOA meeting, and give your views to the Board reference the project.

Does anyone know if this new development will have any type of cross access?

I believe that some of the studies done on Watson Road suggests to minimize the accesses to Watson Road and incorporate more cross accesses.

Unfortunately, an office building at this location will actually cost the City money as we will be paying the Affton Fire District tax on an expensive new office building. Hopefully the Board of Aldermen will work out some type of deal to get the owners to pay the City an amount equal to what the City is going to have to pay Affton before approving it. It’s called a PILOT - Payment In-Lieu of Taxes.

would the same type of payment be required if they were homes and not businees?

How nice that someone made a suggestion, a constructive idea, on the office building rather than a string of silly adjectives. This, too, is progress. Thanks.
