Yes indeed!

Subject: The Haircut

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked about his bill and the barber replies: "I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week".

The florist is pleased and leaves the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open there is a thank you card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies:
"I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week."

The cop is happy and leaves the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a thank you card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Later a Republican comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies:

"I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week."

The Republican is very happy and leaves the shop. Next morning when the barber goes to open, there is a thank you card and a dozen different books such as "How to Improve Your Business" and "Becoming More Successful."

Then a Democrat comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his bill the barber again replies:

"I'm sorry, I cannot accept money from you; I'm doing community service this week."

The Democrat is very happy and leaves the shop. The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen Democrats lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between left and right.

God Bless America!!

Well, by now you know, if you havent before that I am a stone cold conservitive! I have a tendency to vote Republican as they mirror those ideals (most of the time, but lately I wonder.)

I say this because it has come to my attention that some of you think I am in lock step with the administration no matter what they do! Nothing could be further from the truth!

I was the one (on this blog,) who brought up the expenditure for Lyle Sumak, and I was the one who said we didn't need to do it.

All that said, I wanted to use this chance to tell all of you that when City Hall is right (in my opinion,) I will defend them to the death! However, when they are wrong (as in this instance, I will say so, and be the first one at the gates with a tourch!

It's still our city, and it's still our money, and if we had been as vigilant before as we are today we wouldent be in the mess we are now.

Why all this rant you say? Well we have a very important election right here in Crestwood in November, and even more important one in April! Let's all work on finding qualified candidates for each of our four wards, get rid of the dead wood, and move this City forward while there still a City to move!

Since you have stated you did not attend the meeting, did any of your "cub reporters" question the mayor and the BOA regarding this nonauthorized, nonbudgeted item?

What happened to all the concerned citizens regarding the spending habits of Crestwood?

$8000 is a lot of money. If it makes the budget next year the amount will be greater, since we got a discount this time around. At least the car allowance for the former CA was compensation for a job being performed and cheaper than 2 salaries and benefits(whether you think it was good or not). At least it was voted on by the entire BOA. Maybe we should check and see how the current Alderman on the BOA voted on that issue. Does anyone know how Alderman Miguel, Breeding and Dewey voted?

12:47 blogger, I have no idea what happened to all the "concerned citizens," I guess it's easier to be concerned "anonymously," than to be on front street with your views, and remarks.

Now as to my "Cub reporters," why yes there were a few there, and at least two citizens rose to challange the idea of the Lyle Sumack expenditure. As you know I have berated that issue to death here, as I see no reason for anyone to come here to tell us what we knew in 2000! That said, it's spent, and now please join me in telling City Hall "no mas!"

The man came to town at the request of the C/A, we gave him at least $8000.00, and I still can't play the trombone!

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an
oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low
~~~
The reason for that is purely geographical.
~~~
Our OIL is located in
~~~
Alaska
~~~
California
~~~
Coastal Florida
~~~
Coastal Louisiana
~~~
Kansas
~~~
Oklahoma
~~~
Pennsylvania and Texas
~~~
Our DIPSTICKS are located in Washington, DC!!!!
If the "cub reporters" are told that the Lyle Sumek seminar is a closed worksession for only the BOA and Mayor, why would you show up for Lyle Sumek meetings!
Why was the Lyle Sumek worksession posted at 1 p.m. on September 15th on the City of Crestwood's website?
Who forgot to tell the journalist to inform the public?
Who is really running the city?
Frank Myers or ?
How can you question anything when the citizens of Crestwood are never told?
What happened to Mayor Roy Robinson's campaign promise?
Who is keeping the door closed on Crestwood for all citizens to know the facts?
7:14 PM blogger: I don't know who is closing the door so to speak, but I am doing my best to keep it open!
The City has been posting it's meetings on line (link on this site,) and I get it on a header as soon as I can. Lately though the posting's (that cover the folowing week,) are not ready to view until late Friday afternoon.
Since it is the job of our City clerk, Kim Cottle to complete this she may be the person with the answer.
The files that are posted are in PDF form, so you must download "Adobie reader," before you can see them (it's a free download, and if you have trouble I will help you.)
You question anything by calling your Alderman (or me if you want to, 314-341-2307,) and if I don't know, I will find out and call you back (the Alderman better know.)
Folks, we voted for these people to be our leaders, we need to trust (but verify,) in them, and move this City forward. If they can't, or won't do it, well April is not that far away, put up five bucks, get some signatures, and jump into the race! Trust me, we have some great un-tapped minds in Crestwood, and we can sure use them now in a few places!
