Since I don't see a heading for "etc" comments, I will just put a comment on this one.

Discovered an internet site called "YOU TUBE" recently which has a great article today on Whistle Blowers. One example, among others, is the milk enhancer (Monsanto) given to cows to make them produce more milk and the potential danger to us and our children and how it has all been covered up by the news media and the powers that be.

Just think 2007 should be the year we all decide to ask the right questions of the correct people and act on our concerns. This should start at the local level, then county, state and national. If not us - WHO!

Locally, we could ask how many jobs/positions does a city of 12,500 people and 4 sq. miles need and which are the absolute priorities. We are not a corporation, we don't need layers of employees. WE don't need innovations right now that are costly. We need to know that our new tax rate is being utilized efficiently and city hall is not up there dreaming up ways to spend it. If that message is not clear, we need to make it clear. Also, how many white shirts are there in the police department now? How many cars on the street? Any at the plaza? I would like to see a complete write up on this department in the city newsletter telling us about our men in blue, rank, years here, etc. Followed by the fire department, public works dept. and staffing. Just put community back in community.

I like your idea blogger. It could be called a "Citizen's Audit".

I'm not sure how helpful city hall will be providing this information. Right now, there is an attitude of "we know better than you" with current staff and current elected officials. I was hoping this attitude would pass after the previous administrations, but it seems to be persist.

and you expect someone to take what might be legal action based on an anonymous tip?
Me, I am not going to wait, you'll never do it, too afraid to follow up on what is pretty a good idea.

Who said anything about legal action? It's just research. A lot of research.
