April 24, 2007 "Executive session topic!"
Please click on the header to be directed to the topic of the Alderman Executive session meeting of April 24,2007.
This is a very interesting subject, as it seems to give loopholes for the BOA to opt out of the "sunshine laws" when and if they feel the need to.
Now why would they need that, and why now pray tell? I have a problem with this unless it's for a personnel matter

Not clear if the title sent me where you wanted it to go. Better check again on your link.
Who calls all these exectuive sessions Crestwood has been having, the Mayor or Mr. Myers or both?
Can an alderman vote no to the motion to go into executive session, does that happen very often?
Tom,
Like 9:51, is this where you wanted us to go? The link takes us to Missouri State Statutes. I was wondering if there was a memo from Crestwood you wanted to show us???
Indeed it does, and the first statute is what the topic of the executive session was all about.
I thought we were "all through" with law suits. What in the world are they worried about now, that THF will not settle for the $295,000 the TDD commission and the BOA voted to give them?
Tom Ford
Tom,
Has the lawsuit with Novus been settled?
I do believe it has been settled, that's why I am asking, what's left?
Tom Ford
The local paper came out today, and we may have a window into what the "executive session" was all about.
It seem's THF Realty is not happy with the reimbursement of $295,000.00! I have said it before, once we start giving the "farm keys" away, it will never stop!
We should have offered $0.00 and let it go at that. Now we have offered more than anyone should have, and it's "not enough!"
HNow what?
Tom Ford
Maybe you should have attended the meeting to get more information than was in the paper. You might have a different opinion (maybe/maybe not).
The meeting I was talking about was closed to City officials only.
I would have liked to have been there though.
Tom Ford
My response was to your comment regarding the local newspaper article. The article was regarding the BOA meeting. Not an executive session.
Oh, OK, in that case, being there would never have "changed my mind," as I still believe they should get "0!"
Tom Ford
wats that got to do with executive sessions?? and the Novas suite is not settled.
wat is interesting to me is the "local newspaper" reporting that City had to "borrow" $30,000 from the General Fund to pay off the "NOTE" (like a bond) payment due n March. Just like two City administrators ago, here we go again, more fund lending to another to pay off results of over spending. I thought this crew wasnt going to do that?
Can someone explain all the time and money going into these Crestwood "stores"? Is this really something the City should be focusing on? Is there a business plan with projected revenues? If not, does this need to go any further?
Yes indeed, in the words of the late Senator Evrett Dirkson " A billion here, a billion there, before you know it it's real money!"
Just scale that down a bit, and bingo, we have Crestwood! I agree, where indeed is the money going?
Tom Ford
Why did the General Fund have to lend $30,000 to pay the March Note payment??
And now a Crestwood Store?
Who is in charge of this?
Crestwood Swim Club, that's who!
the Swim CLub is now in charge of how City's money is spent? Why did Roy let that happen?
3:46 blogger: Trust me this was bogus! The swim club has no say what so ever in how the funds are spent!
They have their own problems, and none of them connect to the City, so please let your heart not be troubled!
Tom Ford
Thanks Tom, now can you explain what and why the General Fund had to lend $30,000 to the Note payment check?
6:23 PM blogger: I wish I could! I will ask a few folks and see if I can come up with an answer though!
Tom Ford
$30,000!!! what is going on? How can they buy/lease new police cars for over $200,000 when they have to take money from the General Fund to pay off a debt payment? This is starting to remind me of the Police Palace and the bonds the other mayor tried to get us to swallow. Anyone else on this blog upset or doesn't anyone care any longer?
I'm beginning to not care any longer.
We've got too many people with too much time on their hands dreaming up new ways to spend tax money.
I was afraid of that.
10:06 PM poster-
was this the 'note' that was supposed to be paid off with Prop S money?
Yes
