Crestwood independent back from vacation!

Ladies and Gentlemen, a great time was had by all! relaxing, fun in the sun, and wonderful walleye fishing! Now were home and ready to return to "most of the news." (click for web site of the Island, I am a lucky one, we have a place to stay there.)

What shall we take up now? The Crestwood day parade ( I understand that there will be at least 100 units, and the grand marshal (Mickey Carrol, from the "wizard of oz!) as well as great food and drink!

The on-going "pool" question? Nah, why bother.

The Watson Rd. corridor, or Crestwood businesses? Well, if one or all of these interest you, please jump in! The water is fine, and I paid for it!

Tom,
Also find out while your at it how much it cost the us for the reverse 911 call from the Mayor reminding us of the parade. I thought the reverse 911 service was for emergencys, and police work?

Taken from the Welcome to Crestwood booklet -

"Reverse 911: In 1997, the department added a community
messaging system called Reverse 911. This system
allows your police department to contact a large number of
residences via telephone to deliver a pre-recorded message.
This system is used to deliver information on community
programs, meeting times, and crime alert bulletins."

I guess the parade and the 60th Anniversary is not a community program?

The parade route as follows. starting in Sunset Hills (the only place available to handle the large number of units,) east on Watson Rd.

If you want a great place to view it, please set your lawn chairs up at the Schnuck's store berm on Watson Rd. It's flat there, plenty of parking, and you will see the entire parade!

The "reverse 911 calls" are part of any muni's program with the Bell system, and as such don't cost a dime extra.

By the way, there a plenty of local volunteers working very hard to make this a fun event for the whole family, so when you see one Saturday, please stop and thank them!

Appreciate it.
