This is a quote by what I think is one of our finest Presidents to date! Ronald Reagan, in my mind did more to save this great nation from the dark despair of communist rule than any man in history.
Is it any less important in 2007 than when he said it? No, not one bit, but I do think it bears another read before the country falls from within!

Reagan did a lot no doubt. But in my mind FDR did more to save us from communist rule. Before him, the President of the United States was NOT known as the leader of the free world. England's prime minister was. That happened to be a gentleman by the name of Winston Churchill. But once WWII came on, FDR led our country and the world in a time of despair against Nazism and later communism. He laid the groundwork and Missouri's own "Give Em Hell" Harry Truman carried it out. No knock on Reagan, Tom. I agree he was a great President. Just figured I'd offer that history lesson to some fellow bloggers.
Anyone have the scoop on the Value City shoplifting incident(What's new?)/ Watson Rd. Police pursuit that happened today? Heard there were minor injuries?

Interesting reading in today's CALL. THF wants more money and that's not even the big news! With respect to the Sunshine Law and the media, looks like Crestwood's caught with their pants down! This is an EMBARASSMENT to the city.

FDR, and later Harry Trueman were both great war time Presidents who had the courage to do the right thing's for the Country, and not back down as the curent crop in Washington is doing.
Operation "Galvanic" (the invasion of the Japanese home islands) was expected to cause up-wards of a million allied casualties, with six times more on the Japanese side, so "Give em hell" Harry did the right thing with respect to the Bomb.
My uncle was a ground crew chief on the "Enola Gay," and as such fully expected to be moved from Tinnian to mainland Japan to continue the battle, but was saved by the bomb.
My main hobby is WW2, and all aspects of it, so if you would like to come over sometime and look at the collection, please say so.

9:56PM blogger: The pursuit started when the driver of the car took off upon seeing the police cars arriving.
At some point during the chase he missed a turn, wrecked the "getaway" car (cut's bruses, contusions,) and was taken into custody.
This was normal every day procedure when I worked in North County, I know it's unique in Crestwood, but there, it's a way of life.

7:29AM blogger: I sent in my resignation due to my extended work hours this summer.
I have been on the road some mornings as early as 5:00AM, and arrived back home at 6:00PM. upon arrival at the house "office" I still have a couple of hours paperwork time, so I felt I could no longer do justice to the board.
It seems that the older I get, the harder I am working! This is not what I expected, but I am like an old fire horse, I just can't sit in the barn and vegitate.
I understand that Mayor Robinson has appointed an excellent replacement, and I am sure he / she will do an excellent job.

You can bet that quite a few come from that area, so more time is spent there.
Unfortuniatly thats a by product of today's society, and I am afraid it will continue to be as education takes a back seat to crime.

Is it because Value City has inadequate private security? Seems like if you have a reputation of being tough on shoplifters the word would get around?
I still find it hard to believe that they invested all that money in a retirement facility so close to that place with the reputation it has. Maybe they are going to build a huge wall around it. I sure wouldn't want those thugs running out and hiding in the retirement facility.
6:45PM blogger: Private security people do not have the powere of arrest, they must call a "sworn officer."
It makes no difference how many "store detictives" they have, all they can do is to attempt to detain the suspect until police arrive. he bad guy's know that, so..
I doubt you will see any problems at the retirement center as the bad guys do not wish to be seen, so they will not attempt that area!

While I am sure Value City has its share of shoplifters, troublemakers, etc. let me advise the Crestwood Mall and all the malls have lots of this kind of activity. Poster is just trying to make a point about that corner. Which point is irrelevant.
Here's another worry - one day I was coming home from the CWE and my scanner took 3 calls of house breakins and 1 of suspicious possible breakin,, all in Richmond Heights neighborhoods. One breakin when they got inside was surprised by homeowner who was home. Suggest that you lock your doors day and night, this breakin problem is closing in. Suburban police and residents must be vigilant.
