Our new C / A gives in to the "paper!", or what's going on here?

In a rather startling turn of events Mr. Myers is quoted as taking "full responsibility" for not notifying their Highness's of the meeting dates and times! Since when is it the responsibility of the City administrator to notify anyone of a meeting that is clearly posted in the City web site for anyone with half a brain, and a computer to find?

Are we to expect a photo of Mr. Myers getting off a plane with a "treaty" in his hand, signed by the "paper's" editors, with a caption "peace in our time," ala Nevil Chamberlin?"

Now Alderman Roby wants to have a vote on it! Good grief kiddies this is ridiculous, a waste of City time, and an affront to the honesty of our elected officials! I am told by reliable sources that the reporter for the "paper" was late in asking for the meeting time, and now that's our fault?

Now moving on to the financial "storm" approaching. I have an idea, why not cut back on the number of assistants to the C / A? At last count there were two, and one Secretary! I know I am jealous, but does he really need that "entourage" to complete the Cities business? Also I thought we hired an intern, but what we have is an "intern" with a masters degree?

We all know that the plaza is "flat" business wise, and we need a complete renovation if it is to succeed, but the funds are spent on very strange things indeed. We give 2 Million in tax relief to save a center (here the developer was collecting rent all along,) and 295K to a developer to help move (of all things) A PRIVATE SWIM CLUB, and on and on, but now "we have a storm coming?" Well I guess so, grab your life jackets and your wallet folks, your going to need them if things don't change, and I mean now!

Tom your jackass logic never ceases to amaze me. Stop picking on Frank. He's got a tough job as it is. And I have much more confidence in the "paper" than I do your "reliable" sources.

If the sources are as "reliable" and "accurate" as you, then I guess besides being wrong, I guess they also can't spell!

If you don't agree with Mr. Ford, that's fine. But don't insult him. He is kind enough to host all of us so that we can express our opinions, rant, rave, and ask questions.

Thanks again Tom for your service.

Gee, thanks for your support! Don't worry about the two? bloggers who like to "low rate" me.

That's their choice, and that's what America is all about!

Let them be, they NEED the practice, after all it wont be long before we are looking at election's again, and they don't wish to appear "foolish" then, now do they.

Why isn't Frank Myers telling our Mayor everything?

What private business deals does Frank Myers have in mind for the City of Crestwood?

Just got my copy of the Crestwood Connections and I read where the Mayor says he is very pleased with the 2006 Audit Report and how good a feeling it is to see how "we have turned the finanical situation around".
Several things. first the 2006 budget was the last budget from the late Don Greer. And it was in the black.
Second, who should I believe, the Auditors,(we are paying them you know so why would the tell us any bad news?) or the report from Ms. Tate that we are heading for trouble and the 2007 budget will end up in the red? (First Myers budget with Miguel and the Mayor making up 2/3rds of the Ways and Means Committee.)
Third question, who picks the members of the Ways and Means Committee? Why it's the Mayor, thats who. Who picked Mr. Myers to be C/A? Why it was the Mayor.
Fourth question, when will the new Ways and Means Committtee (Mayor, Myer, Miguel, Foote) meet to address the budet problems for 2007 and 2008 and beyond? Will there be any notifcation of the meetings for the public and press to attend, will the meeting be during the day when limited can attend or on Saturdays when more can watch their government at work?
Fifth question, will any paper other than the CALL show up to a Ways and Means meeting to report on, if not why not, isnt the budget problem the City is now aware of worth covering by more than one paper?
Final question, what is the truth are we plush with money or are we going to be broke if things stay the same over the next 5 years?
Final point, maybe Mr. Myers is telling the Mayor everthing, maybe the problem is he just doesnt understand what he is being told? Remember the Mayor is the one who wanted a budget on one slip of paper that every one could understand and he wanted to replace computors with a couple of secyt. with pencils cause that was how simple the budget was in his mind.

I do remember 2006 budget was projected to be in the black but 2007 was not. I wondered how 2007 would turn out. Current administration almost assured the public that Prop S would take care of everything. I wondered how long "pay as you go" would last once reality set in.

You've heard of TrueGrit, well this posting sounds just like "Trueblood." And, of course this being a blog, we have come to expect continued attacks on the Mayor from the new position of the poster. OOO!

Consider the Source.

If I were you I would consider the answers to the questions asked by poster you call "Truegrit", not who the poster was.

What are the steps necessary to disincorporate and be governed by St. Louis County? For the past several years, Crestwood has had some difficulty governing itself.
Maybe Mr. Robinson, with his vast knowledge of government, could look into this process.

Don't be so sure. Being governed by STLCounty wouldn't solve all of our problems, but it may stop some of this foolishness. It's happened in other communities and it may happen here. A lot of people in this town are very unhappy. Some had hopes when Roy was elected but those hopes seem dashed.

7:27 PM blogger: Did you know that some of our esteemed aldermanic rep's wanted to put a TAX INCREASE on the November ballot?

Well, we can thank Roy Robinson for shooting that one down for us!

So before you become "disenchanted" with the Mayor, find out who the real "snakes in the grass" ( to quote Mr Kelleher) are. And when you do, please put them on the blog for us all to see!
