Can Crestwood afford a "high draw store?"

Click on the header to see what Cabela's wants to move into an area! I guess I will be still going to the local fishing tackle department at the Mall (if it remains.)

Which development tools are responsible for the water pressure in case there is a fire?

Is it the CID or TDD or TIF?

After Kohl's and the Crestwood Swim Club was built, the water pressure has been reduced on the Bali Court.

So who is responsible for a fire if the water pressure is low?

Does the Crestwood Fire Department check the water pressures after a TIF, CID, and TDD?

Is a high draw store with a high return on their investment with a TIF, TDD, and a CID?

Why can't AB, AT&T, and other companies get such a great deal?

So maybe that is why SBC left for Texas!

Is Cabella's supposed to be a high draw store? Throw a sporting goods store in with our Pink Galleon and Salvation Army store and we won't have to drive out to St. Charles anymore. Yahoo!

Tom,

Are any of the development tools are responsible for sinus pressure?

Air pressure in our tires?

If two turkeys got married, is it likely they will do the Chicken Dance or Duck Dance at their wedding reception?

A man told his neighbor, "I just bought a brand new hearing aid that cost me four thousand dollars, but its state of the art. It's wonderful!”

"Really?” answered the neighbor. "What kind is it?"

"Twelve thirty".

When all the people from the Boonies come to the big city and see a Cardinals game and visit Grant's Farm they might stop by a Cabella or Bass Pro. But can Watson handle the traffic? And not many retailers will build this far off of an Interstate....

If there is an answer to the low water pressure, please post it blogger. We thought it was from the plumbing work up on Sappington or the pool. We have it too and live nearby.

Supposedly, some residents on Bali Court has noticed that their water pressure has dropped when Crestwood Swim Club is filling up their pool.

Also, they noticed the water pressure dropping when the Crestwood Swim Club staff clean out the pool for a swim meet.

A log will be keep and they will be calling American Water.

I think the Crestwood Swim Club needs their own water line for a residential pool operating as a commercial entity.

Ask our City Attorney Robert Golterman what his definition is of a commercial pool in a residential zoned area without utility easements.

Is it true that former Alderman Gary Vincent and President of Rosebrook Real Estate Company created a square in front of the Crestwood Swim Club gate to prevent anyone from entering their property on the plat because about 6 feet from their retaining wall to inside the pool is part of the City of Crestwood easements for water and sewer hook-up!

Was the Crestwood Police Building suppose to reinforce the Crestwood Swim Club retaining wall?

Any bets on when it will start leaking!

If it starts to leak, can we apply for another TDD or CID for the Crestwood Swim Club?

8:30 PM blogger: Cabellas is a VERY high draw store! Don't believe me, take a ride out to St. Louis Mills, and see for yourself.

10:21 PM blogger: Watson Rd. handled the traffic when the Plaza was in it's hay day, so I think were ok there.

Unfortunately for us SBC forgot to take one of their employees when they moved to Texas.

Well, if the truth be known, NO, Crestwood cannot afford a Cabella's, Bass Pro or even a Pauls Bait Shop. This City is not a major attraction and it is time we realize that. When Watson rd was US Route 66, the mall was booming because we didn't have a I-44, I-270 or I-55. What we had was a 2 lane Gravois, 2 lane US Route 66 and we were considered the country. Now that all the interstates are in place, we are no longer strategically located and therefore not attractive. So what does an unattractive city do? We create our own unique identity. Different from all the others. And yes it will cost us more in residential property taxes.

I'm not totally convinced Watson is dead. Kohls runs a pretty tight ship. They wouldn't be in Crestwood if they were not making money on that corner. Does anyone have numbers on their tax receipts to see how they are doing?

I agree it's not Class A real estate, but it's still a large strip of real estate in a heavily populated area.

We already have a unique identity.
Over the past several years, Crestwood has become quite the topic of conversation.

9:33 it is illegal to have the tax dollars provides a city made known. No elected official has access to what Kohl's provides in the way of tax dollars.

I understand that Kohl's is making money but Cabella's would not, nor would Bass Pro put a store on the Westfield property as it is not located on a major highway. And yes we are all but dead at the mall.

If it's illegal to know how much tax money a store collects, then why are they posting how much they anticipate losing from Dillards? I'm sure someone has a ballpark idea.

I can agree the mall is dead in it's current format. I'm questioning the fact that you can't have successful retail in this location. We'll see how many RFDs come in. That will be the true indicator.
