Crestwood has some great properties, retail, manufacturing for rent.

Please click on the header to be directed to the site that shows what we have in Crestwood for the businessman!

These are the things Ms. Brown has to work with, and we should be helping her in every way we can. If you know someone who want to open a store or start a business that requires floor space and a great location with a super work force, tell them about Crestwood!

Ladies and Gentlemen, instead of just saying we need more retail / manufacturing, let's see what we can do to help. Were all in this together, so what say we "get er done!"

Yes, lets all help, just a dollar a day will help. Just send it to

Crestwood Response Against Poverty

(CRAP) and with in months or so we
will have given enough to allow our elected officals to dodge doing the tough job in an election year.
That's just a dollar (1.00) a day or $365 a year and we will have a budget easy enough to be on one single piece of paper so our current Mayor can understand it.

Blogger Crestwood Independent said...

6:55 PM blogger: Oh, you mean like how the budget would stand 1.5M for design fees for a building we could never afford? I wish he did "understand it."

Had he been that fortunate we wouldent have been down 1.5M in design fee's, and we woulden't have had to borrow 3.5M from the bank just to operate!

You seem to be one of the folks who like to spend all their waking hours low rating your City, and the Mayor! Why bother? Go ahead, plant a "for sale" sign in your yard, and move!

Maybe some other poor un- suspecting community will need your "expertise," but we don't, were all stocked up here!

Is it not Great to hear from the President of CRAP. As we all know, this job takes up a lot of time (not to mention space). His message is an inspiration, a revealing inspiration. Good to know someone with this kind of presence is among us who has spare CRAP; someone who still finds time to enlighten our Mayor and those who read this blog.

At this time, I can't afford to tithe to CRAP, I'm still financing all the lawsuits our legal eagle forgot to forewarn us about; but I have decided to spend what time and money I do have being civic minded and put to good use what me mammy taught me: "If you can't stand the heat, say something nice or turn on the fan," Or was it, "A dollar a day = $365 a year." Perhaps "Smaller spreadsheets = more trees."

Enjoy the weekend festivals and the ballgames; the weather, the fireworks. Life is Good! Join SCRAP. It's free and it is a nice way to say "Accentuate the Positive, Eliminate the Negative." :) :) :

Know what! I love this town. The potential is unlimited. The people mix awesome. The challenge exciting. Power to the People! Thank you to our leaders. The ones who serve with honor.

One can "hunt" both, but the more interesting of the species is the "Loudis mouthis liberalias ILK" mostly seen at local BOA meetings, and private clubs. These are the ones most prized for their remarks, and haughty behavure.

One must be very careful though as these may not be hunted over a baited field, such as a swim club, or a gathering of liberals at local cocktail parties!

A permit to hunt ILK would be available on line at of the conservitive sites.

7:10 PM My daughter Kris swam at the old pool lots of times as a guest, but we were never swim club members. What does my daughter swimming there many, many years ago have to do with anything pertinent?

All I did on this blog was ask a blogger who named me as being a member to remove it because it was incorrect.

I was a working mother for years, and to join a swim club when I had no extra time to swim except on weekends didn't seem like a good idea. Plus my husband is deathly allergic to the sun.

When Kristina's friends would ask her to join them at the pool as a guest, I was very happy for her to be invited. She loved it. What's your point?

I have my own ideas about TIF's CID's, Kohl's, what transpired at City Hall from the time Mayor Killoren retired until now. I have my own opinions about the swim club, and with previous administrations, and how things were handled with the swim club. But it seems that everybody else does too. However,I have no intention of shoving my thoughts down anybody throat. My views and opinions are mine and if I choose or not choose to express them is my perogative.

I hope I have made my point, so enough said. Thanks.

I guess the "in group" in Crestwood (Tom Ford and his group being in the loop with the calls regarding city meetings, etc.) needs to address the budget and development in Crestwood. The amount of money they are whining about regarding the Kohl's money is a drop in the bucket compared to the loss of revenue from lack of sales tax income. You want your services but don't want to pay.....

And the 1.5M was not only for design fees....and out of the $3.5M, $1mil+ deficit was from previous administration (whether you believe that or not - fact), another $1mil+ from decline in sales tax revenue. That does not include the amount of money the city had to fork over for the numerous audits these "citizens" demanded. Give me a break!

If you purchase property in the county, instead of a municipality, taxes are lower. Check it out. Properties for sale list the taxs being paid. I believe the BOA are just trying to keep the business that already reside in Crestwood. More empty locations would be very bad.

Previous boards sought revenue enhancers and have been brought down on this site.

The annexation was to increase headcount in the city to increase revenue - now that was bad.

They wanted to provide mixed housing/retail which would have increased revenue but that would have possibly included eminent domain - that was bad.

They bent over backwards for Kohl's to occupy a parcel that was not producing enough revenue because it was mostly vacant - that was bad.

They gave Grewe $$ to increase occupancy - that was bad.

The voters wanted to increase revenue by changing the method of business licenses - now that is bad.

They provided studies regarding the Watson Road development - nothing has come of that...why?

They were blamed for shotty plans drawn up for a new city hall (2 times!) Still don't understand why the city did not hold the designers accountable. They gave them a budget 2 times and neither of the 2 proposals came close. If you ask me Crestwood did not get what they asked for - I guess it is not true that "the customer is always right".

They were blamed for trying to obtain an accounting software to help the city straighten out the mess left by Leighligher (sp?)

My point is - they were doing something to try and help the city.

What has been done by the current administration besides getting a tax to pay off the outstanding loans left behind? Most of the newer developments (Sam's, Kohl's, Watson Plaza and the Old Sappington/ Watson developement)were already well past the planning stages prior to the current administration.

What does Amen mean, soldier?

Here's the facts. The former administration did not have tons in the bin or brain. But here is what they did have:

City Hall and the Public Works Dept. were collateral for the loc. Had the ludicrous conceived idea of a 14.5 M. dollar rehab at city hall been effected, guess what, that would now be collateral. Had this former board been so astute, employees could have been better compensated. But, nooooo - fancy smancy upgrades and software and a BMW carried the day.

Please don't tire me with your babble about their manner of progress. It was non existent.

Kindly remember, 9 people sit on the city dais and 9 people are responsible. This bunch of 9 should have sound and timely counciling from the city administrator and the city attorney. If the facts are not forthcoming, then 9 people are at fault. If these 2 city employees do not make the facts know, then it is time for them to go. Aldermen who do not ask the pertinent questions need to do so. Aldermen who run for office from this stance, are beginning to be translucent.
