Wow, I thought for sure that this blog post would garner some serious comments. But maybe I am the only one who received a St. Louis County Property Tax bill.
Anyway, I will be paying a rather healthy sum of money to taxes this year but I as a citizen of Crestwood will see very little of that coming to Crestwood. Why you ask? Well, because Lindbergh School District is getting most of it. To be exact, they are getting 10 times, Yes you heard me right, 10 times the amount that Crestwood will be getting. And I hope the animals at the zoo are dining on the finest of vittles because they are getting almost as much as Crestwood is getting. Sad, very sad. Our city may be falling apart but we have beautiful schools which are well maintained.

Right you are my friend! The County Covernment never saw a tax increase the didn't love (Democrat's?)

Please let's not forget that our fearless leaders in tha past agreed to give WILDWOOD, AND JENNINGS almost $1,000,000.00 of our tax monies (from then on!) because thay had no retail to speak of.

WILDWOOD, of all places where you can't buy a dog house under $250,000.00! And jennings where a new mall is being put up!

HOW ABOUT WE GET THAT MONEY BACK HUMMM?

I guess we could also look at the drive by housing "assessments" we have all been subject to in the past couple of years, and it all add's up!

I was going to say "don't get me started," but it's too late now isn't it.

My tax bill went up $576 this year. Not my house value. Is this par for the course. Let's discuss this on this blog. This has never happened before, at least to me. Is there recourse?

9:52 PM blogger: Indeed there is recourse, file a complaint with St. Louis County! Tell then that you demand a complete reassessment of your property with you present.

Call the newspapers, the TV stations, and whomever will listen to you!

Also there is a little known program in Jefferson City that may be able to help, it's called the "Homestead Program."

Your tax bill, like many others in this city went up. Please look specifically at what our fair city realized as a result of your $576. increase. In a nutshell, Peanuts.

No kidding! Do you know why it may have gone down? Thanks.

Strange thing, we got a new dishwasher and 2 days later a county appraiser came by and asked if we got a new dishwasher and if it was built in. Wow, guess Lowe's and other retailers now turn over this info.

3:40 PM blogger: If you had it installed, a City/county permit was pulled, and thus the "tax man commeth!"

The stores don't advise them, the permit people do, and as you saw, darn quick!

Moral of the story? Do it yourself, or have someone not worried about that sort of thing do it for you.

The County Government is made up of Democrats, need I say more?

I guess my vehicles are getting older. Went down by only $91.00 - but I'll take it!
