I read the "paper" today, and for the second week in a row....................

They managed to keep their word and not bash mayor Robinson! In fact they are running a three part "exclusive" interview that can be seen on page one. To say that I am impressed, is to say too little.

How long can this new found love affair be expected to continue considering the Past attacks on Crestwood by the "paper?" I, for one like their new format of not attacking us, and I hope it continues!

They've probably gotten all the mileage from the old-line as they could, so as to keep folks reading they used the philosophy from the old the Monty Python Show: ...and now for something completely different!

12:51 It's about time they get with a new program. I can't imagine another three years of the same garbage from that paper.

However, I think it's because nobody ran against Roy. Wait until someone runs against him in three years, if he runs again, that paper will turn on him in a heartbeat. I don't trust them and never will.

5:43 PM blogger: The "paper" reminds me of the story of the scorpion and the frog. The scorpion asked the frog to help him across a creek, the frog said no, you will sting me, and I will die!

The scorpion promised the frog that would never happen as it was an "honorable scorpion!

The frog, against his better judgement allowed the scorpion to climb on his back, and ferried the scorpion across the creek.

Once on the other side, the scorpion stung the frog! On his death bed, the frog asked WHY? I helped you! The scorpion said "because that's what we do!"

The "paper?" no difference friends, they are "scorpion's from start to finish!

Is that Crestwood Wi-Fi deal the board is considering a good one?

A good deal of us on the east side of Crestwood can't even get DSL. Seems like another option would be good?

8:19 PM blogger: WI FI is great as long as your not interested in secure communications!

Why don't you look into a satellite DSL program that's a great way to do it, or stop at Computer St. Louis on Watson Rd. (see link,) and ask them what they have to offer?

That's a broad statement about Wi-Fi.

A lot of public safety organizations use it for secure communications.

Satellite has latency issues and is quite expensive.

9:34PM blogger: Broad statement? I doubt that my friend!

The "agency's" you speak of have "secure encrypted" in their programs, do you?

Do what you will, but if you do a wifi don't be shocked if the guy sitting next to you can read it!

Most reputable hotspots use authentication and encryption. If this provider does not offer them then it's not a good deal.

I was more interested in the terms of the deal being offered to Crestwood.

7:15 PM blogger: I will leave the "terms" to someone at City Hall.

Perhaps Tina Flowers could answer your question.

Can't wait to see who ROY hires this time! Sorry Tom, didn't mean to steal your thunder. Don't you just hate it when 'others' are right.

11:22 AM blogger: No, I love the free and open ideas on a blog, don't you?

I was wrong once, and was forced to admit it! It was March 20, 1956! I thought I was wrong, but found out later I was right!!! I will never forget it, I was scared for life!

Just heard the news about Frank Meyers. No loss there! If I were a betting person, I would bet a $1 that Roy will do one of two things. Not hire a new CA (for financial reasons) and try to run the day-to-day operations or go as far as try to change our government structure to a strong mayor. His ego will be his and Crestwood’s downfall.

8:37 AM Why bitch about Roy now when you had a chance to run against him and tell us all how much better off we would be with you doing the job.

So sorry that you don't live here and can't be our "Savior". Surely we will all be doomed because of it.

8:25 am Well if you don't live here but only have your business in Crestwood, chances are you never go to board of aldermen meetings and only rely on heresay and what you read in the papers to form your opinions.

Not good criteria for your analysis of the mayor or anybody.

Boy, you sure like to make ASSumptions. I have known and unfortunetly have delt with Roy for close to 20 years. I have been summoned before the board, P&Z and signs more times than I care to remember. That's what forms my opinions.

12:05 I am on your side,100%. I am sorry you have had to deal with Roy for over 20 years.
Don't let the knee jerk defense of Roy from his few vocal defenders throw you off, never forget that Roy backed the owners of the Creston Center and they didn't live in Crestwood and their business because it was in the annexed area produce very little sales tax. Also, interesting that one poster 11:01 must attend most of the Board meetings, so if you would like to find out who he/she are, just go to City hall and ask for a list of the people who sign up at the BOA meetings. I bet you could narrow it down to 6 or less people and if you wanted to make a case that they have as Mayor's supporters, threaten to boycott your business for political reason's,(post 8:09 a.m.3/6/08) I think it would be a strong one. The newspapers would love to run that story, maybe even Mr. Elliott Davis would like to ask questions.
