Valley Park moves ahead with banning illegals from being hired.

The U.S. District court has upheld the Valley Park ordinance against businesses from hiring illegal aliens. I have no idea where you stand on this issue, but if we are to secure our borders, and have a country this sort of thing is needed.

I have no problem with anyone with a clean background coming to live and work in this country as long as they have valid ID, a green card, or they are becoming U.S. citizens. Sadly this is not been the case in many areas. In way to many cases the illegals are receiving welfare, and social security benefits, and are not paying into the system.

Please click on the header to be directed to the story, and while your there reflect on whether this is the right thing to do considering all sides (forget the ACLU.)

Well then bravo and three-cheers for Valley Park!!! It seems that no one else in the government will do anything about the mexican illegal problem except to talk the same old talk. I think the republicans like the illegals because they provide skilled and unskilled labor cheaper for business, and the democrats like the illegals because latinos vote democrat. That pretty much leaves regular Joe-Citizen out in the cold and unemployed.....Give this country's path of all talk and no action five more years and we will be hearing..."press 2 for english"...

Spoke to a friend in Houston recently. They said there it is the Chinese who are overtaxing the system/get all the breaks, etc.

Apparently, you and I will need to lay hard on all politicians, ALL, and stay with it until they get the message that "FIRST COME AMERICANS."

Pick up the phone, write a letter to all the politicians that represent you and get the point across, encourage others. Until this hits the political radar by threatening votes, nothing will happen. The rich need these workers, but they don't want the responsibilities that go along with it. Like, medical care, etc. We have lost the quota system of immigrants; it is lopsided and way out of hand. Felons, are they welcome! Speak up. Let's see what happens.

Besides, isn't it time Mexico provided for their people. How many American company's are in Mexico? All the wealth is at the top and the poor come to U.S. Mexico needs to work on taking care of their own and then we can have shared labor, policies and accountability.

well thanks to Clinton and the idiot NAFTA program we are in the soup!

I know one thing for sure the DWI arrests have skyrocketed due to the Cervesa and Chevy mentality that seems to be all the rage!

I pray that this will never effect a family member of ours. If we can't get a handle on this (and we can, how about at least sending them back when they are caught by the police?

As of now ICE will do nothing! So what do we need immigration for anyway?

Again I repeat I have no problem with LEGAL immigrants, but MS-13, and some of the people we are seeing now, we don't need!

Got lots of time before the presidential election to let candidates know about thoughts on immigration. People pressure. Get busy. Sooner or later one of these crimes will affect you, your pocketbook or your family or city.

Tom,
NAFTA has nothing to do with illegal aliens in our country. Immigration laws and NAFTA are separate.

Over the long term free trade helps all people in all countries involved. It was H.W. Bush that started promoting NAFTA, Clinton finished it for the good of all three countries.

Blame those who are responsible for upholding the current immigration laws; they're not doing it.

Note: the author is not a Clinton supporter.

There is plenty of blame to go around here,no? Clinton finished it alright, he signed it into law.

Manufacturing jobs were moved to Mexico by US firms for lower wages and benefits, and we wanted lower wage workers here in the U.S. which is fueling the illegal alien market.

Sorry but I do see a connection here. I blame our former two Presidents, as well as the current President equally for the mess were now in, and I also blame Congress and the Senate for allowing it!

I guess a vote is more important than a Country, for a Nation without borders is not a Nation!

Think it a good idea to place some blame on the citizens of America. It appears that people are often just too busy to pay attention, and the politicians certainly know it. There are more of us than them. Why don't people make noise? Surely the German people did not all approve of Hitler. Look what happened. No voice.

2:18 PM blogger: I agree completely my friend, to the Washington crowd we have become "sheepole" not able to think and act on our own!

These party members keep being re-elected because we are to complacent to bother to vote. The primary had a 30% draw of all the eligible voters, that's just a shame, Iraq had a better turn out than that!

It is, and always was simple, if you don't like it, do something about it, VOTE! Work to toss out the bum's before they become part of your every day life!

Your right, Hitler said what the masses wanted to hear, and that's all it took for the German people to toss out a brilliant past and descend into the darkness of the Nazi party!

I pray we can do better.

Well said, Tom. And, did you notice all the softball questions asked on Sunday morning political TV? Same questions every debate and interview, Sunday in and Sunday out. Who are they kidding? Afterall the politicians won't come back if you pin them down. This a.m. for example what was said about immigration? How long are things like this going to be left under the rug. What does it take to become an urgent factor in American concern, i.e. global warming and such as that? They keep passing this all around like a hot potato. But amazingly enough congressional salaries don't get left on the shelf long. Look what can happen when a group of concerned residents take to the streets, i.e. Crestwood police station project. The bruises on the American apple will not self heal.

Boy, am I confused! Listening to the Partisan 'politicians', I have been
hammered with the propaganda that it is the Iraq war and the war on
terror that is bankrupting us. I now find that to be RIDICULOUS.

Now ..... I hope the following 14 reasons are forwarded over and over
again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of
reading them. I have included the URL's for verification of all the following facts.

1. $11 Billion to $22 billion is spent on welfare to illegal aliens
each year. http://tinyurl..com/zob77%20

2. $2.2 Billion dollars a year is spent on food assistance programs
such as food stamps, WIC, and free school lunches for illegal aliens.

education for children here illegally and they cannot speak a word of
English!

American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

social services by the American taxpayers.

9. $200 Billion Dollars a year in suppressed American wages are
caused by the illegal aliens.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0604/01/ldt.01.html

10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that's
two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular,
their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in
the US.
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0606/12/ldt.01.html

11. During the year of 2005 there were 4 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens
that crossed our Southern Border also, as many as 19,500 illegal
aliens from Terrorist Countries. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine,
meth, heroine and marijuana, crossed into the U.S. from the Southern
border.
Homeland Security Report:
http://tinyurl..com/t9sht
12. The National Policy Institute, 'estimated that the total cost of
mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion or an average
cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.'
