Board of Alderman meeting, May 12, 2009, 7:00 PM. Please click here.

Ladies and Gentlemen, attached please find the agenda for the up-coming BOA meeting.

One item on this agenda is of interest, and that is a revision to the Police salary program. As it stands now the BOA must approve any increases in salary, but there is a proposal to change that.

The new plan would tie the salaries to the budget (which can change,) thus removing an important check and balance step. I see no reason for the change, but I am open to discussion.

I would like to know the reason for the change?

So would I. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

Personally, I like the old check and balance routine, and see no need of change.

You heard that Burke Wasson is leaving the CALL? He's going into teaching! Good for him. I wish him well. I always found him to be an outgoing young man and I enjoyed talking with him. His reporting was always very fair and accurate. He was a good one. He'll be missed.

I did hear that, and I am saddened to see him go. I personally grew to like Burke, and I wish him God's speed in his new career.

Please tell me why Lindbergh HS needs a facelift on their Baseball field? I think it looks Great as is. Aren't there more important things Frosted Flakes could be doing with their money? Hint: Rebuild our Mall.

Why would Frosted Flakes rebuild the mall? This is for the children of the Lindbergh school district. If you don't support your local school district I'm affraid the help you need I can not give.

Dear Frosted Flakes supporter.
I have to ask myself why a cereal company would want to spend valuable resources on HS baseball fields when there are so many children in this country attending schools with antiquated books and no libraries where students can go to enrich their lives. Maybe instead of putting a higher value on sports, they should put a higher importance on education. After all, it is the children of today that will run our contry tomorrow, not our baseball players. Besides, only a few individuals will benefit from such a donation while those who don't play baseball will realize no benefit.
