Mayor Roy Robinson has heart by-pass surgery!!!

Mayor Robinson was absent from the last Tuesday Board Of Alderman meeting with no prior notification. What none of us could have known at the time was that on that day he underwent a heart by-pass operation!

As of this writing I am very glad to tell you that he is in good spirits, and resting comfortably. His Doctor is not allowing visitors for at least 30 days, and at this time Roy needs all the rest he can get, so please no phone calls.

I am sure he would like all the cards and letters we can send him, so let's get on that program.

Please join me in wishing Roy all the best, a speedy recovery, and we wish to see him back soon!

Get well soon Roy.

Not sure what the Charter or City code says about prolonged absence but there may be rules about long an elected offical can miss BOA meetings before being removed from office. I hope he and the BOA have looked into this.

Mr. John Foote is the new BOA president, and it will be up to him to run the meetings.

Somehow I doubt that anyone has studied the possibility that Mayor Robinson may no longer be able to serve, but they should, and soon.

Depending on the recovery, Roy's doctor may well recommend that he steps down due to the stress involved with running anything, much less a City.

Time will tell, but for now Roy should concentrate on getting well, let Mr. Foote assume the duties, and not worry about anything until he is back to normal.

Does our Mayor have a dog?

Washington House Fire Sparked by Dog's Water Bowl
Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Print ShareThisBELLEVUE, Wash. — The Bellevue Fire Department says a sunny day and a dog's water bowl caused the fire that charred the back of a home.

Lt. Eric Keenan says investigators determined the glass bowl of water magnified the rays enough to start the Sunday afternoon fire on the wood deck.

There was no wiring or other possible cause.

The homeowners were away, but neighbors noticed the smoke and flames.

The family dog was rescued. Damage is estimated at $215,000.

WATER bowl started the fire? Well that's a new one on me folks. I fully know that a magnification of the suns rays can cause a fire, but a WATER bowl?

Me thinks they need a new fire investigator in that burg.

I wish him 'peace 'n rest' conversely, just like the another ego-driven dictator.

3:08 PM blogger: Now, now, he is a good man. I really don't like his politics, but aside from that he can be very entertaining!

I do wish him a very speedy recovery so we can go back to the verbal jousting.
