August 25, 2009 Board Of Alderman meeting (click here for the agenda.)

While you are reading the meeting agenda please note that neatly tucked in there is nothing other than ANIMAL CONTROL! Wow,we the Citizens tell the leaders that this is one area WE CAN CUT EXPENSES, and here we go with the sob story to keep it!

Maybe I just don't get it, but unless the Mayor has a money tree out at the farm, we MUST reduce expenses where and when we can. This is without a doubt one area we can and loose nothing in the way of services.

Ms. Sutton is due to retire at the end of this year, and I thank her for her service to our community, but that said when she does retire in December that has got to be the end of her division unless the volunteers wish to fund it and run it for us. If they can do that, I am all for it, but if we have to put in one dime, well we have to use county!

I suggest we allow County to use the shelter we have now (and pay for heat, light, phone, and up keep) and that way it will seem as though "it's business as usual."

What the experts think of "Tax Holidays" for Cities!

Also please come to the Work session on the 25th.(6:00 PM, BOA chambers) and tell your Alderman what you think of the "red light camera idea,"

Folks pay close attention to the two items at the last part of the meeting!

It seems that there will be some numbers tossed out indicating the great revenue brought in by the TIF areas as set up in Crestwood point, ETC.

take a very close look at these figures and remind yourselves that while the numbers are there, they still may not be what you would think there are.

If you doubt me, see Alderman Miguel or Steve Nieder for the real story!

This may even involve the beloved Crestwood Swim Club's wonderful facility, so if you can go, do it.
