WARD TWO TOWN HALL MEETING 9/27/11, 5:30 TO 7:00 PM IN THE BOA CHAMBERS, CRESTWOOD CITY HALL.
Ladies and gentlemen, Ms. Jackie Stock and I will be again hosting a Ward Two Town Hall meeting to address concerns, and questions from Ward two residents. The meeting will start promptly at 5:30 PM and last till 7:00 Pm at which the regular BOA meeting will take place.
We have the Crestwood Police Chief coming to address the recent vandalism, and car break ins in Ward two and what each of us can do the help our Police catch the culprits. Also in attendance will be The mayor Mr. Jeff Schlink, and Ward Two Alderman Mr. Steve Knarr (Alderman Pickel has not responded yet) to address your questions and concerns.
We will be posting a complete agenda for the meeting in the next day or two, so please watch the Blog for it. If you have any questions or concerns that you would like to see on the agenda, please advise me (314-341-2307) and I will see that they are addressed.
This is a prime opportunity for us to meet with our chosen leaders and tell them what we would like to see in Crestwood, so please make every effort to attend, and bring your questions and comments. More as the agenda fleshes out.

a an fyi, there have been car break-ins all over crestwood, so perhaps you might share the tips the police have about this problem?
1. Yard lights or address lights on.
2. Keep cars off the street if possible-or as close to your house as possible.
3. Do not leave loose change or CD's or your GPS visible. Thieves will break in to grab one dollar.
4. Car alarm. Yes, it's an expense but a thief will look for the path of least resistance and if your car is alarmed and your neighbor's is not, guess which one he will go to?
I hope these tips help. I lived down at SLU when I went to school there and those were some of the things we were told.
7:39 PM Blogger: Kerra, I will indeed forward on ALL the recommendations the Police have for us. You (and anyone else who wishes to attend) are welcome at the meeting since as you stated it's a City wide problem.
Meanwhile, the 9:16 PM Blogger has some excellent ideas to help ALL of us thwart the punks who are doing this.

I appreciate it!

Tom,
Good meeting!
The Police Chief did give us a lot of good info, especially that we should not hesitate to call if we see anything that does not seem normal for our neighborhood. It is better to have the patrol officer check things out than to have to investigate a crime.
I'll be watching for the next meeting!
John
