The battle of Lake Erie, September ,1813 will be reenacted on September 10, 2013, and I will be a crew member aboard the USS Niagara, want to join us?

Please click on the header for the web site and complete information as to how you can be a part of American history! As you can well imagine being a part of the actual battle aboard a man of war, 1813 style will be extremely exciting to say the least.

The battle will cap a bi-centennial celebration of the battle that defeated the British Navy on Lake Erie, and played a great part in ending the war with an American victory. I will be portraying ordinary seaman John M. Strebeck, an ordinary seaman who was wounded while serving aboard the Brig (USS) Niagara (Admiral Perry's flagship) during the battle.

The Bi-centennial committee is looking for a few good men to join the fleet, so click on the header and "enlist" for the battle, and the opportunity of a lifetime.

I will be adding this site to the list of quick links to the right of the Blog so you may see it at any time without looking up this post. If your at all interested in "enlisting" I would do it soon as the "billets' will fill up quickly.

Tom,
If it doesn't have airplanes on the roof, it is not in my job description.

7:40 PM Blogger: John, I said the same thing, but what the heck, we all need to be versatile.

I guess I can last a weekend acting like a "black shoe." We will still know that "Airedales" are above he rest!

Seriously though, this will be a soirée of a lifetime, and I wouldn't miss it for the world!

PS: Liberty call at Put In Bay where the worlds longest bar is located (984') and adding on, which is always a hoot!
