Tom, I have no real good answers or suggestions as you have requested. Primarily, because Crestwood's problems are part of the bigger problem - our Country is broke!
Crestwood cannot begin to survive, if the whole country is in crisis. The ripple effect will keep us and others from coming back up to the status quo.
I do have a few ideas about what could be done but they are all "way out of the box".
First, what has all the elected people in this country been doing to safeguard us from reaching this point? Are they not suppose to protect this country?.
If that is correct - you would think that out of all the people in this country elected and appointed - someone could have been watching the store. Are they not the ones with all the "degrees" in "this and that". Graduates "summa cum laude" or maybe "summa cum lager"???? Are they not suppose to be elected because they are a "cut above"?
Also, many persons have spoken on your blog, and given opinions and suggestions regarding Crestwood as well as our country's issues. We are suppose to be the ones who can give opinions which we do - but we have no power. Then those who have the power, only seem to listen to us when they are ready to be re-elected. So to them, we can be called "the little" people who are used as a tool during campaigns!
BUT THEN when you listen as I have -to those "WHO WOULD BE PRESIDENT" speak on national television and you see how they get along with each other (NOT), and watch how many do not give their opponents time to explain anything, crucify each other and fight, I think we on this blog shouldn't feel like THE LITTLE PEOPLE anymore.
Goodness, if you watched and heard the debate last night - one has to wonder.
I think we should be where they are, and they can come down here where we are, and get a taste of what we contend with each day. Yes, let's put them all in detention and let them get a little taste of what it is like to be the ones who have no voice! I'll bet things would change and they would have all kinds of new ideas to bring this country back to what it was. And when that happens, Crestwood and other cities will be back moving forward.

8:10 PM Blogger: Sandy, you have some very excellent points there for us to ponder! First, what are the elected officials doing to protest us?
Well they are the ones who would push us ALL to communism via the "share the wealth" policy they so dearly love. What can we do? Vote the fools out of office every chance we get! If there is a (D) or an (R) or a (I) behind there names and they don't listen to us, OUT they go like yesterdays garbage (which they are!)
I wrote to ALL three of my Representatives in Congress and the Senate discussing the Eric Holder "fast and furious" gun running idiot idea that got three of our Border patrol officers killed! I told them ALL that I wanted Holder prosecuted for lying to Congress as well as his total involvement in the debacle or I would work tirelessly to insure they were not re-elected next time out!
I have receipts from Senators Blunt and McCaskill, but nothing from Carnahan (imagine that.) Guess who is now on my short list to help get removed in the next election?
Never give up, call, write, email and visit these so called Representatives and tell them what you think, please!

Yes, I totally agree Tom. Some of these politicians "are not smarter than a 5th grader" - in my opinion. Let's just vote them all out and start fresh!!!!! Bet we all can do a better job than they have done.
I have written letters to several explaining my views. Believe it or not, the only reply to about 6 letters that I wrote, was Senator John McCain. Of course, it was after he ran for President but he seemed to at least appreciate my effort.
Remember Ted Mack's Original Amature Hour in the 50's - "around, around she goes and where she stops nobody knows"? Well maybe you were too young to remember that television show. But it seems those words are apropos to the American experience today. Does anybody really know what or where we are headed? Like Bud Abbott and Lou Costello's comedy script seen on TV - "whose on first", "I don't know is on second", etc.
We live in interesting times that's for sure?
