CRESTWOOD SAILOR KILLED IN MIDDLE EAST
Chief Petty Officer Sean Patrick Sullivan, United States Navy made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, family and community on July 19, 2012 when his MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter crashed during a heavy lift operation in the country of Oman.
Fellow Air crewman Second Class Joseph P. Fitzmorris also perished during this incident. Three fellow crewmen survived the crash.
Sean, known as “Sully” to his friends, graduated from Lindbergh High School in 1990. A fourth generation Sailor, Sean joined the United States Navy in 1991 and attended recruit training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, IL. Chief Sullivan attended Aircrew Candidate School along with many specialized training schools. He served overseas in Japan and Sigonella, Sicily.
Chief Sullivan served many duty stations in the Continental United States to include Naval Recruiting District, St. Louis, MO.
Fighting for our Freedom, Chief Petty Officer Sullivan served during Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Operation Iraqi Freedom prior to his last deployment to Oman. Sean had selfless devotion to duty and an unwavering commitment to the United States of America and to the United States Navy.

Sean’s personal awards include: 3 Strike Flight Air Medals, The Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (3 awards) The Army Achievement Medal and numerous Campaign and Unit Awards. Chief Sullivan was a small arms expert with ratings as a rifle and pistol expert.
Chief Petty Officer Sullivan leaves behind his loving wife Amy, many family members, and countless friends who adored him.

Chief Sullivan will be forever remembered by a grateful country and community as his name is inscribed in the City of Crestwood’s Veterans Memorial located at city hall.

UPDATE AS OF THIS WRITING:

There has been nothing further to report other than a squadron memorial in Bahrain and a Funeral service at his home base in Norfolk, VA.

I will advise the local arrangements as soon as I am aware of them.

Here's hoping those Westboro Baptist people don't show up at his funeral. Those people make me so angry I could spit, protesting soldiers' funerals.

11:58 PM Blogger: I really doubt they will show up. They are a high profile type of protesters who only come if they think money can be made.

Should they show, well we will cross that bridge if and when we come to it.

Funeral on Wednesday.

Sorry but it's not a firm as I would like to report it, bu it does give us some idea of what is on the schedule as of today.

I will advise when it's a firm date and time as to where, and what time.

This morning at church it was announced that there has been a delay and that the Navy would notify the parish as soon as more information becomes available (so that funeral arrangements can be made).

Latest up-date on Senior Chief Petty Officer Sullivan's funeral.

Casket will arrive at 0930 today and be escorted to the Kurtis Funeral Home on Gravois.

Viewing to be on Tuesday (times uncertain as of now, check the paper for times, or I will post them as soon as I have them.

Funeral on Wednesday (again time not yet set,) and internment.

I heard thatthe funeral is Wednesday at 1100 at Our Lady of Providence Parish in Crestwood.

Final plans as follows:

Viewing at Kutis Funeral Home from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday.

Funeral from Kutis to Our lady Of providence Church for a 10:30 AM Mass, and internment at Jefferson Barrecks National Cemetary.

This is as of 10:32 AM per Chief Mike P. of the Crestwood Police department.

The Wednesday 10:30 departure time is to the Church, the funeral will start at 11:00 at Our Lady Of Providence church.
