Global warming, or is it?

I received this from a good friend who also happens to hold three PHD's, interesting to say the least.

" The Washington Post"

"The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consulate, at Bergen , Norway .

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.

Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well-known glaciers have entirely disappeared.

Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable."

* * * * * * * * *

"I apologize, I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post – 91 years ago."

"Dang that pesky global warming..."

I tend to agree with the article, but I have to ask: your friend's PhD degrees...are they in meteorology or weather? If not, then why is that relevant? Just curious.

12:50 PM Blogger: My friend has two PHD's as I said but not in either field you asked about.

I mentioned it because on paper he deemed to be a bit smarter than I am, hence the reference.

Back to your agreeing with the paper. Please tell me that you don't believe all this progressive hysteria. Please tell me that you don't think the earth is flat, or whatever the current mantra is.

If your a religious person, what makes you think that we mortals can destroy the crestors work, and if we could in fact do it, he must have allowed it to happen, so how do we stop it?

Why do WE have to make changes in the country when every other nation has no intention of doing anything what so ever along those lines?

Do you really want to join Obama's brother George in a mud hut with NO heat, light, or air conditioning, because that's what the "climate change" zelots want.

I am in no way a climate change zealot, or a zealot of any other kind. I fully acknowledge that climate change has happened throughout the history of the earth with no help from man, since man didn't exist. That said, I also believe, that while it may be a cyclical part of nature, we have exacerbated the situation beyond what nature would have produced on its own. Why do WE have to stop it? Because, when it comes to right and wrong, we can't really concern ourselves with what others do so much. It's wise to take care of the only planet we have to live on for the foreseeable future. Whether or not other countries choose to behave responsibly should not dictate whether we do or not.

8:33PM BLOGGER: So we put people out of work, we allows families to suffer while China, India, and the remainder do nothing?

Your OK with that? Face it the climate change hoax is just that, a hoax perpetrated by useful idiots so someone (Algore) and others can profit!

When YOU shut off your furnace, sir conditioner, refrigerator, and car, let me know, maybe then I will revisit it.

so...if China and India don't do it, we shouldn't either?? That's some school yard logic for you. HE started it! But, whatever. I do my part when and where I can. I can't change the world. but I can do what i can. I will not, however, go out of my way to not be responsible because of what someone else is or isn't doing. I don't care much for Al Gore, but that also doesn't mean that I cant do my part.

4:23 PM Bl9ogger: Nope, do as you will, I have no say (nor should I) in how you live your life, that's up to you.

I will however still decry the so called "global warming" issue for what it is, a fraud.

I remember the day that St. Louis was to be devastated by a massive earthquake in the early 90's. That day a good friend and I went to the TOP of a motel next to the airport for lunch, guess what?

Anonymous Man caused climate change denier said...

In cold years like these, climate change deniers always ask a trick question, "How come global warming can cause both heating and cooling?" The answer is actually quite simple.

We all know that sometimes it's hot as Hell*, and sometimes it's cold as Hell. Clearly, Hell can make it hotter or colder. The science is settled on the fact that global warming will be Hell on Earth, and since Hell can make it hotter or colder, global warming can, therefore, also make it hotter or colder.

Let's go one step further. Things can also boring as Hell, as in "nothing's happening, it's the same old same-old." Thus, Hell can also mean that things don't change. If you've followed the reasoning so far, you can clearly see that if it gets hotter, colder, or temperatures are flat, it's due to global warming. Just as predicted.

Granted, the realization that warming can cause cooling takes a little imagination, and this is exactly what the deniers lack, or they wouldn't deny imaginary science. Any way you cut it, warming is a catastrophe. Imagine every day of the year two degrees hotter. Tomorrow it will be 22 degrees instead of today's 20. A day six months from now it will go from 90 to 92 degrees. Can you imagine the carnage? Not if you're a denier.

We're talking about a return to the Medieval warm period. We certainly know what that entails. Viking raids will start up all over again. The polar bear will become extinct a second time. All peer-reviewed literature will be written in Latin. There'll be no Obamacare and everybody's four humors will get totally out of whack without the government managing our bodily functions. And that's just the tip of the iceberg - except there'll be no icebergs!

All because of CO2. You know what produces a lot of CO2? Climate change deniers, who just can't stop breathing in and out. We must put an end to that.

p.s. I will make fun of who ever I want to. It's America, for now at least, we still have that freedom.
