Remember when a teen club was proposed for Crestwood?

I seem to remember that the proposal stated that "complete safety" for the kids was assured. Well if you would please click on the heading, you will see the same type of club in Black Jack has been closed after only two nights. I would say we dodged the proverbial bullet this time, and just think our residents saw the future of that "problem" and the Alderman kicked it (Thank goodness.)

Why you say? Well it seems that there were some sort of problems outside the club that led the County to close it, but others say it is "racism!" You decide.

Have you had the pleasure of hearing the tape of the last BOA meeting?

If not please contact Ms. Tina Flowers at City Hall, fill out a FOYA form requesting the tape and it will be emailed to you.

I liked the part where "His Honor" mentioned during a discussion on the Sappington House, that the citizens in the "annexed area" didn't understand the historical importance of the Sappington House. And I guess by extension the two Aldermen didn't either.

Ah Mr. Mayor, the folks in the "annexed" area are quite well educated, and fullly aware of what the Sappington House is to Crestwood, St. Louis County, and the State of Missouri!

Gee whiz sir even those of us in the Second ward understand it so why the remark? Are you that mad at Alderman Miguel and Alderman Duchild that you insult everyone in Ward three, or was that just another "Royism" that should have never been said? The Town wonders.

Words of wisdom from the "economic development board!" (click here for the story from the Call.)

To say that this writer is beside himself in total wonderment is an understatement!I can't tell you when the last time I have seen or heard such trite diatribe coming from A "COMMISSION" was.

First they blow off the required meetings as set forth in the ordinance`, and now they say they don't want to meet if it's not needed! Well my friends, this group of commissioners would seem to me to be using our City name, our heat, lights, and air conditioning to accomplish nothing!

Not to be outdone by any of that, please notice that Mr. Forrest Miller wants to include Sunset Hills in the program Ah, Mr. Miller, they couldn't care less what happens to Crestwood, and if you doubt me I give you the following!

1. Attempted to build a new retail lifestyle center up Watson Rd. form us.

2. Are attempting along with the Sansone group to woo Best Buy into the old Comp USA store.

3. They are not in the business of increasing our tax monies, but theirs!

Now Mr. Miller and your "commissioners," I challenge you to tell us just what good you have done (tax wise) for Crestwood? I suggest that if you want to meet in the future you all do it at someones home and stop using City Hall to further this waste of our money.

August 25, 2009 Board Of Alderman meeting (click here for the agenda.)

While you are reading the meeting agenda please note that neatly tucked in there is nothing other than ANIMAL CONTROL! Wow,we the Citizens tell the leaders that this is one area WE CAN CUT EXPENSES, and here we go with the sob story to keep it!

Maybe I just don't get it, but unless the Mayor has a money tree out at the farm, we MUST reduce expenses where and when we can. This is without a doubt one area we can and loose nothing in the way of services.

Ms. Sutton is due to retire at the end of this year, and I thank her for her service to our community, but that said when she does retire in December that has got to be the end of her division unless the volunteers wish to fund it and run it for us. If they can do that, I am all for it, but if we have to put in one dime, well we have to use county!

I suggest we allow County to use the shelter we have now (and pay for heat, light, phone, and up keep) and that way it will seem as though "it's business as usual."

Mayor to hold a "town hall meeting" on September 12, 2009!

This should be very interesting folks, the topics are to be "animal control," and Sappington house!

Animal control was to be eliminated ( so the Alderman told me) at the end of December when Ms. Susie Sutton retires, so why discuss it?

I trust the Alderman did not fib about the decision to eliminate the position (we also pay county,) as I was assured by a couple of them that it was a done deal.

The Sappington House, well you tell me why we shouldn't give this to the County and let them operate it as we have a contract from the git go with them anyway.

More on time and place when it becomes available.

A quiz, "who am I?" please read it all the way to the bottom for the answer.

Subject: Fwd: GUESS WHO I AM ? ?

I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born in another
country. I was not his only child. He fathered several children with
numerous women.

* I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in
me. My mother died at an early age from cancer.

* Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

* My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a
legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

* I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was
widely accepted in my country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs &
didn't follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.

* I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult,
disguising myself as someone who really cared about them.

* That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and
I embarked on a new career.

* I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who
read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned
me as a child.

* I became active in local politics in my 30's then with help behind the
scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office
in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into
anything. That reinforced my conceit.

* I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no
experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker
and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they were small
roofing tacks.

* I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This
bolstered my ego.

* At first, my political campaign focused on my country's foreign policy.
I was very critical of my country in the last war and seized every
opportunity to bash my country.

* But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the
country's economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could
do better and every poor person would be fed & housed for free.

* I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess. It
was the free market, banks & corporations. I decided to start making
citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who did well, the plan
was clinched tight.

* I called mine "A People's Campaign" and that sounded good to all
people.

* I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the
traditional path of politics & was able to gain widespread popular support.

* I knew that, if I merely offered the people 'hope', together we could
change our country and the world.

* So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the
downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include "persecuted minorities" like the
Jews. My true views were not widely known & I needed to keep them unknown,
until after I became my nation's leader.

* I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found
out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined
those people I associated with.

* I'm glad they didn't. Then I became the most powerful man in the
world. Then the world learned the truth...

*Who am I? *

I am ADOLF HITLER.

WHO WERE YOU THINKING OF?

Scary, isn't it.

Reference the last Tuesday night at the fights commonly called the BOA meeting!

Amazing! We have a Mayor in his second term who refuses to call on a Crestwood citizen (Steve Nieder,) when the Citizen has had his hand up for some time, and finally has to tell the Mayor he has a comment!

Now this may have escaped "his honor" when he read the job description of Mayor, but EVERY citizen deserves the right to be heard, and that includes Mr. Nieder. Do we have any idea when Mayor Robinson will come down off his lofty throne and allow the BOARD to call the shots at THEIR meeting?

Your "honor" the name of the meeting is 'THE BOARD OF ALDERMAN MEETING," not the Mayors night! Please stand down and let the eight elected officials do their job!

I also have been told that EX-Alderman Bland has asked that the red light cameras FAILED IDEA be re-heard by the Board via a "work session." Mr. Bland, this has surfaced twice before and both times it has failed as it should, MISERABLY! Why do you feel the need to run this foolish idea by the Alderman again, have your feelings been hurt because it was tossed out?

Now we come to the Civil service Board who should be renamed the "Robert's rules of order specialists!" My goodness kiddies when you have a motion on the floor, someone seconds it, your supposed to VOTE on it, not move on to the next motion! I fear all you have done is cause great embarrassment to your boss, Mr. Jim Eckrige, who had to explain your actions!

Two other perennial favorites were trotted out for the umpteenth time, that being the Sappington House Restaurant lease agreement which was not even close to being ready for anything much less a vote of the Board, and the famed old "bridge to nowhere" in White cliff park whose champions demand another "look-see" at the feasibility of fixing the "condemned" bridge using partial Federal Grants, and strangely enough if we can do this for ONLY $28K out of our pocket, I say do it! We may never see another chance to get that funding again!

All in all, the meeting made a democrat town hall meeting look like a "ladies sewing circle," but hey, this is America, we have the right to decent, and be heard (get it your honor?)

BOA meeting on August 11, 2009 (notice the property tax section!) Click here.

Ladies and gentlemen, there will be a rather important Board meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 7:00 PM. As you can see when you click on the header one of the items mentioned (under the staple) is an ordnance for "property tax rates!"

Interesting considering ALL of our home values have decreased thanks to this "recession / depression we are currently in, so will the County assessor take that into consideration, and will the Board also look at it? We shall see on the 11th.

Why the 2010 elections will be the most important in U.S. History!

MOST OF ALL OF THIS HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.

What would you say if I gave you 11 reasons why the elections in 2010 will be the most important in the history of the United States ?

1. What if I had told you in October 2008, before the last presidential election, that before Barack Obama's first 100 days in office, the federal government would be in control of both the mortgage and the banking industries? That 19 of America's largest banks would be forced to undergo stress tests by the federal government which would determine if they were insufficiently capitalized, so they must be supervised by the government?
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America ."

2. What if I had told you that within Barack Obama's first 100 days in office the federal government would be the largest shareholder in the US Big-Three automakers: GM, and Chrysler? That the government would kick out the CEO's of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined, not by a Board of Directors, but by the government?
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

3. What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 21 Czars, without congressional approval, accountable only to him, not to the voters, who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions. That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar, a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar, an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

4. What if I had told you that the federal deficit would be $915 billion in the first six months of the Obama presidency - with a projected annual deficit of $1.75 trillion - triple the $454.8 billion in 2008, for which the previous administration was highly criticized by Obama and his fellow Democrats. That congress would pass Obama's $3.53 trillion federal budget for fiscal 2010... That the projected deficit over the next ten years would be greater than $10 trillion.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

5. What if I had told you that the Obama Justice Department would order FBI agents to read Miranda rights to high-value detainees captured on the battlefield and held at US military detention facilities in Afghanistan . That Obama would order the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility with no plan for the disposition of the 200-plus individuals held there. That several of the suspected terrorists at Guantanamo would be sent to live in freedom in Bermuda at the expense of the US government. That our returning US veterans would be labeled terrorists and put on a watch list.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

6. What if I had told you that the federal government would seek powers to seize key companies whose failures could jeopardize the financial system. That a new regulatory agency would be proposed by Obama to control loans, credit cards, mortgage-backed securities, and other financial products offered to the public.
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"

7. What if I had told you that Obama would travel to the Middle East, bow before the Saudi king, and repeatedly apologize for America's past actions. That he would travel to Latin America where he would warmly greet Venezuela 's strongman Hugo Chavez and sit passively in the audience while Nicaraguan Marxist thug Daniel Ortega charged America with terrorist aggression in Central America .
Would you have said, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!"

8. Okay, now what if I were to tell you that Obama wants to dismantle conservative talk radio through the imposition of a new "Fairness Doctrine." That he wants to curtail the First Amendment rights of those who may disagree with his policies via internet blogs, cable news networks, or advocacy ads. That most major network television and most newspapers will only sing his phrases like state-run media in communist countries?
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"

9. What if I were to tell you that the Obama Justice Department is doing everything it can to limit your Second Amendment rights to keep and bear arms. That the federal government wants to reinstate the so-called assault weapons ban which would prohibit the sale of any type of firearm that doesn't require the shooter to pull the trigger every time a round is fired. That Obama's Attorney General wants to eliminate the sale of virtually all handguns and ammunition, which most citizens choose for self-defense.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !!!"

10. What if I were to tell you that the Obama plan is to eliminate states rights guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment and give the federal government sweeping new powers over policies currently under the province of local and state governments and voted on by the people. That Obama plans to control the schools, energy production, the environment, health care, and the wealth of every US citizen.
Would you say, "C'mon, that will never happen in America !"

11. What if I were to tell you that the president, the courts, and the federal government have ignored the US Constitution and have seized powers which the founders of our country fought to restrict. That our last presidential election may have been our last truly free election for some time to come.
I know, I know what you will say. "That will never happen in America !"

If we don't do everything in our power to stop this madness in 2010...
May God have mercy on our worthless souls.
Pass this on to every freedom loving American you can.
Thank you.

While not authored by me it is a very powerful reminder of why elections have consequences, and why we must VOTE every time there is an election!
